Great board and pieces. Love
"Great board and pieces. Love how the wood feels. Only giving 4 stars because the box came dented in the corners."

A collaboration between Printworks and Moomin. Bringing together the timeless world of Tove Jansson and the tradition of chess, this edition reimagines the game through a softer, more narrative lens. Each piece draws inspiration from the characters of Moominvalley, translating their distinct personalities into sculptural form.
At the heart of the design is a cast of carefully sculpted wooden chess pieces, each representing a beloved character or landmark from Moominvalley. Moomintroll, Moominmamma, Moominpappa, Snufkin, Mymble and Little My are brought to life through distinctive wooden forms that capture their unique personalities and silhouettes. The Moominhouse itself is reimagined as the rook, creating a playful connection between the game's strategic traditions and the storytelling heritage of Tove Jansson's universe.

It looks great, perfect for
"It looks great, perfect for display. The packaging is pretty good too. If, like me, you have dry hands then the bishop and the pawns can slip from your fingers easily enough. Also, the pieces could be weighted. It would give them a more premium feel. It's a very nice set and overall I'm happy with it though."
